In this day and age, streaming is the main way that most people consume music. However, there is a difference between listening to music for personal enjoyment and playing music in your business for your customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the big music streamers are licensed to play music only <\/em>for personal use. There is no \u201cSpotify for Business\u201d subscription, and as written in Spotify\u2019s terms and conditions, it is for \u201cpersonal, non-commercial use only<\/a>.\u201d As such, in order to play music legally for customers who come into their businesses, companies should subscribe to a business music provider like SoundMachine<\/a>, which will license their music for legal use in their business locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, that doesn\u2019t mean the playlist you\u2019ve spent hours curating on Spotify will go to waste. With SoundMachine, you have the ability to import your playlists from many different sources, such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Importing Playlists from Spotify: All the Customizability Without the Legal Problems<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Select the playlist(s) you\u2019d like to import, then select SoundMachine as the destination. The import will happen automatically and appear in your SoundMachine account under your saved stations. Remember that we recommend a playlist with at least 100 songs, and a single artist should make up no more than 10% of the playlist. 16. Once the playlist is imported, SoundMachine\u2019s website will let you know if it meets the requirements mentioned in step 11. If it doesn\u2019t, then you will need to adjust the playlist from its source platform to fit the requirements and re-import it. In the screenshot below, you can see that this playlist did not meet the requirements<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

17. We repeated steps 8\u201315 and selected the \u201cAwesomeness\u201d playlist to import, which meets SoundMachine\u2019s requirements. You can see that \u201cThe Time” playlist still does not meet the transfer requirements, but now we have one playlist that does!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Once your playlists are imported into your SoundMachine account, they will be licensed for commercial use through SoundMachine and will be as usable as any other preset station in SoundMachine. While there may not be a Spotify business subscription, SoundMachine\u2019s partnership with Soundiiz allows you to get all the convenience of the Spotify app while ensuring that the tracks are licensed to use as background music for business customers. The same is possible for many other streaming services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
